I'm having the devil of a time finding a breakfast nook like I want. I've got a southwest styled kitchen and a lovely area that is just big enough for a breakfast nook and maybe even a sideboard, though I'm desperately wanting a pantry, but right now I'm needing a table and seating before the current one gives out.
Every design I find that I could sorta live (like this http://images01.olx.com/ui/1/65/29/8565629_1.jpg) is either too flimsy, too expensive or too open...
I say flimsy and open because I have an Autistic teen and an ADHD child... they will both wiggle a chair to death and when they finish eating you'd swear they had a food fight... so bench seats with closed backs are the only way to go here. Need to be able to either stop the food from getting under them or be able to sweep under them easily... . and some kind of foot rest to stop the swinging kicking feet that could be slid back for company would be a godsend....But I could probably cut down a bench for that if it came to it.
And for that sort of abuse on a piece of furniture, I'd rather not spend an unholy amount of money buying something nice, but .... well.. I want something nice enough ;)
Is there any hope for something like this?
