I have a little bungalow = not a lot of space or counter space. I've been searching for ideas on Ana's website in the way of a kitchen island/counter. Something where my microwave and ice maker would be off any counter tops. I pinched designs off of the Simple Kitchen Island http://ana-white.com/2011/03/simple-kitchen-island and Easy Kitchen Island http://ana-white.com/2011/03/simple-kitchen-island plans. I wanted to make sure there was a ledge behind the ice maker to utilize what would most certainly be unused space if not designed right. I was going to use butcher block for the top, but my Mom suggested finding a granite piece. I called around to different places and was able to get a scrap piece of granite that had bull-nosed edges for super cheap ($40)!
If it weren't for Ana's website I would have never been able to design this on my own or have the courage to do so. Thanks Ana!
