It looks hella-easy to make up a plan youself.  Do the reclaimed-wood-look headboard in twin, but use all 1x6's instead of a mix and maybe see how one 1x4 would look as the top trim, instead of doing the 2x4 and the 1x3 underneath it.  Just measure out how high you need it to be and calculate the 1x6s (remembering that actual board width is NOT 6 inches!) to get there.  Find a light and switch you like, paint them to match.

/ETA - steal the base off any of the twin beds that she has plans for, and looks similar to the pics. 

Yes, It just has taller posts than the reclaimed wood bed.

You can get "wireless" light switches to mount on the headboard to run the lamp.I don't know any more than that they exist - never used one.

Any wall sconce would do - for teen boys I recommend something like this, with a guard over the light.
