How do I make boarss with angled ends in SU, please?  I'm trying to make support bars for the underside of table corners, if that helps!  Like this: http://img.diynetwork.com/DIY/.....c_lead.jpg

TIA!

Use a miter saw and cut the angles at 45 degrees.  Or use a circular saw and adjust the fence to 45 degrees.

For making a few cuts, you can get a "miter box", and cut them with a hand-held miter saw. A couple of clamps helps cut straight.

Oh, no!  I know how to cut them in real life....I'm trying to figure out how to draw them in Sketch Up!  Thanks!

DUH!  My mistake.

Try making the "board", which will have 4 corner control points on each end. Then go to "edit points" and select 2 adjacent points. Pull them straight up or down until you have the angle you need.

When I select my board, it selects all 4 edges and the face.  I can't find an option to edit points; nothing under Edit and no similar option when I right-click on the board.  Is there a setting I need to turn on to access this feature?  I tried Google for more information but cannot find anything - I get sent to LayOut2 a lot.  Thanks!

Create the plane of your board.  Don't pull it to the 3D dimension yet.  Instead, at the edge where you want to create the angle, use the protractor tool to create a line.  After that you can use the tape measure tool to create another line at the proper height (like 1.5 inches for the true width of a 2x4).  Then just use the line tool to create the outline of your new shape.  It will automatically fill in when you complete it.  Hope that helps.

Edit: I have uploaded a sketchup called "Angled Ends" onto the sketchup warehouse.  I tried to go step by step on it.  Hopefully that helps.
