Make this giant monogrammed snowflake from plywood -  Easy to customize and create your own design!  Plans by ANA-WHITE.com

Do you like making snowflakes?  Folding the paper up into a triangle shape, then cutting out, and seeing what you get?

Call me a kid at heart, but it never gets old for me!  It's amazing what a few little snips can do to a piece of paper.

So that's why I'm giddy excited about today's project!  Not only is it a snowflake, but it is cut from wood!!!  And just like the paper snowflakes that you create and no two are alike, you can do the same with this one!!!

Shopping List

1 - 24" x 24" plywood panel or MDF panel, 1/2" or 3/8" thick

jigsaw with scrolling bit

Tools
Tape Measure
Speed Square
Pencil
Safety Glasses
Drill
Jigsaw

Instructions

Step 1

Mark out the plywood piece like you are folding a paper to make it into a snowflake.  First mark the quarters, then divide into thirds and mark.  The degrees between each line is 30 - if you are using a speed square or protractor.

Step 2

Download the cutout pattern here and print at 100%

Place the cutout pattern on the plywood and trace.  Flip and repeat to create the entire snowflake pattern.

Step 3

Clamp the plywood to a sturdy table and carefully cut out with a jigsaw with a scrolling bit.

In some spaces, start with a drilled hole larger than the jigsaw bit, and cut out.

Step 4

Sand any rough edges.

We recommended spray painting for the easiest finish.

Did you also do the trees? Those are so friggin' cool!! Thinking that my girls' teachers need one (and I can't give them all the SAME snowflake, now can I?!) ;)

Awesome, as always, Ana!

Lowes and Home Depot sell 2x2 panels but they aren't exactly 24"...more like 23 7/8"  Is that what you used?  Or did you rip to exaclty 24"?
