My name is Kim and I am wife and mother of 2 beautiful children my son Denver is 2 and my daughter Mayla is 2 months. I live in rural Saskatchewan and am on maternity leave. I love to do this in my very rare spare time- during nap time. In high school i wasn't an honor student by any means-the only award I ever got was for IE(industrial education) for building a porch swing. I had a great teacher Mr. Wasilik- who i thank for sparking the interest and also my mom for doing wood crafts with me as a child.
So far I have only made a few benches and a play table and bench for my son. The benches were made of scrap wood my husband gets from his work- I like the weathered look they have(rust from pipe lying on them).
I hope to get better with each build and eventually start selling what i can. I want to be able to stay home with my kids and enjoy my hobby, teach them what i can plus make a little money too. Wish me luck :)
