Recently visited our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore and found it's a great source for paint, hardware, tile, doors, windows, tile, etc. I picked up some Sherwin Williams paint quarts for about 1/3 the regular price. I also noticed they had quite a selection of hardware - hinges, handles, knobs, you name it. For less than the regular price of a quart of paint at Blue, I walked out with 2 quarts of SW paint, a pint of gold paint, and a used metal tool caddy.
I checked on a steel entry door to replace the wood one on our pole barn - it was priced at $5.

We bought a great piece of old counter top and built a work bench in the garage using it. I haven't been down there in a while, thanks for reminding me to check it out!!

Thank you for this great advice! I had no idea we even had a Restore here, and just look it up and we do! I am so excited to go check it out next time I'm on that side of the island.
Thank you!!

Oh YEAH! I forgot about the reStore. We have on in Denver. Awesome.
My dad's on the board in No. Illinois. He and my mom do a TON of work building houses. I can't imagine what it's going to look like in a few months when the are both retired from their "day jobs"....

There is a new ReStore that has just opened in south Kansas City. The original was so successful that they've started this second store. I think it's going to be a great success...it's up and running. A few more donations and it will be humming.
I just bought an amazing set of storage cubes that were donated from a fastener company. $1.50 each and they made a wonderful organizing wall in my garage.
