This was my third project, and the first one with doors (boy do I have some great opportunity for growth there!). I left off the bottom trim because I wanted a slightly more contemporary look. Thanks for this plan, Ana. It was the perfect size for this space. Things I learned doing this project: next time cut an extra 1x4 to tack in to do the doors, hinges require math, be sure to get the kind of wood filler that dries—not wood putty (sigh), I need a workbench.

Looks great, love the open bottom! Can't wait to see the workbench!
Loved how these plans were so easy to follow and certainly appreciate the accompanying video.

Thank you for sharing, love the raw look and the build is fantastic!
I've been wanting a bench for the foot of my bed for a long time, but could not find one I wanted at a price I wanted to pay. When I saw Ana's Upholstered Bench, it was just what I'd been looking for! I went out to the barn and scrounged some lumber, and then, because I am not comfortable using a circle cut saw, but I am comfortable using a table saw, I went online and found some videos on how to make a taper cut jig for a table saw and used that method to cut the tapers on the legs. I finished cutting out the frame and then sanded, stained and tung oiled the legs. My husband helped me assemble the frame and then I upholstered it. I am redoing my bedroom in a 'western' theme, and I used the remnant of the same faux suede fabric we used on the headboard. I added the nailheads but apparently I chose some that are only carried in one store in the area, so I'm having to wait a week for them to restock since I bought all they had! Then I'll add the rest to the front.
I am delighted with how it turned out! It not only looks good, it's really sturdy, and since I have less than $20 in out-of-pocket expenses, it sure beats those high priced benches! Thanks, Ana, you are a real inspiration to this 61-year-old grandma!
I built this using the Kentwood bookshelf plans as a guide. I made my shelves 3 ft wide and made it aprox. 8 ft tall. I also bought the KREG shelf pin jig and built the shelves to be adjustable. I haven't chosen a finish yet because I am waiting for my son to pick a color since it is going in his room. I am considering fixing a shelf in place and building some doors for the bottom. I worked on this over a week span, however I could only do bits and pieces at a time. The sanding took longer than the build because I plugged the pocket holes and they take longer to sand down.
My daughter asked me to build this for her for Christmas but wanted it to have a gray weathered look to match some of her existing furniture that I had built. Very enjoyable build! Thanks Ana!
This came together pretty easily and the directions were spot on. These were my first 2 out of about 15 that are done now. The sage green one now has a chalkboard seat which I love!
Potting Bench.. Used an old window for the top part. Great easy plan can be modified to build for many uses. I had free wood and used a walnut stain. But I am thinking of painting it black.
Needed a place to store wood for the fireplace and firepit. This very nicely organizes what was before a huge dirty pile of wood scattered on the ground. Cedar pickets for the top, all is coated in exterior white stain. Holding up nicely so far.
I needed chairs that would fit on my narrow front porch. This plan was great because I was able to resize it to 20x20. I used 1x4s that I already had and some wood glue. They turned out solid. I made the tryde table with left over wood. That one is 17.5x17.5. Super happy with the results. We are doing the garage shelves right now. I have a list of other things I want to make thanks to Ana's wonderful website.
Thanks Ana! I made this Christmas stocking stand based on your plans. My family loved it!

Very festive, love the natural look! Thank you for sharing:)
Finally my 1st project done and dusted. My 1st attempt at any carpentry. Hope my son has a good sleep tonight. I want to dedicate this to Christy (USA) & Uli (Germany) for all their help and support. . . . and thousands of questions I had, without the guidance of 2 people I have never met, I would never have been able to achieve this. I also want to Ana, whose inspiration and encouragement is immeasurable. . . . THANK YOU !!
I'm new at this so I started with the work bench. SUPER easy. I built it by myself. Bought the wood around 8 AM and was DONE by 11. Thanks Ana!
Ana's little crates go perfect in our beach themed bathroom. I altered Ana's plans a little. I changed the dimensions to 12 x 11 1/4, and I did not use lath sticks for the crate slates because I wanted something sturdier. I had some left over 2×12 wood from a previous project, so I cut off 3/4 in wide pieces to make the crate slates. The wood grain gives character to the crates and makes it look more weathered.
I used the Barnwood Frame as a base for this project. Instead of all 1x2's, I used 1x3's for the interior frame and 1x2's for the exterior and stained each with a different shade. This was my first real try at this project and allowed me to use my own frame, matte, picture from start to finish. It took me a bit longer than normal due to some silly mistakes and the decision to build a jig for the miters. Normally, this would cost ~$150 to have someone else do it, but this ended up being ~$30 (wood, double matte, print).
For mothers day I made this for my wife. First ever attempt at any wood working. It was downsized from your plans that was double this size. I only made half for an unusual space. So appreciative to find a place with great plans.

That is amazing, thank you for sharing! I absolutely love the finish choice~
I was in need of a good footstool for my nursery rocker, and after not finding anything on Craigslist or in consignment shops, decided to build my own! I'm glad I chose this footstool, since it helps me reach the top of the closet in the nursery, and will also be useful when my little girl will need a boost to brush her teeth and wash her hands. I love the way it turned out, it's such a unique, adorable plan!
My daughter and I built this table from African Mahogany. We modified the Anna White Benchright Farm table to meet our size requirements. It was our first attempt at building a table. We took our time. We think it looks great.

What area of the country do you live in? That Mahogany is just beautiful. Does it come in dimensional lumber sizes? You guys did an excellent job.

Thank you, we live in the Chicagoland area. We purchased the wood from Owl Lumber. Owl Lumber has an excellent selection of hardwood. The wood comes in a variety of dimensional lumber sizes. The table top we made has several different widths, 1x5, 1x6 and 1x7.

Hello,
We love the look of your table. Can you let us know the size of the bolts you used for the table top? Also where you found them would be super! Thanks!

I used 1/4" bolts that were 6" long. I purchased the bolts at Fastenal.
These (matching set) were a pretty straightforward build based on the Reclaimed Wood Night Stands. http://ana-white.com/2011/08/reclaimed-wood-night-stand. The hardware I used was designed to match the Printer's Console that I built previously. I cheaped out on the drawer slides, which I wouldn't recommend doing because it gives the drawers a cheap feel to them. Plus, there's not that much of a price difference.

Hello, your project looks nice. Did you use regular #2 lumber from Home Depot or Lowes? If so how are they holding up?

But yes the lumber was straight outta Home Depot. I would say its doing pretty good at this point. It sees pretty light duty (e.g. alarm clock, books and glasses of water), but no water rings. I did throw a number of coats on the top of it though. It's soft wood, so if you wanted to you could engrave your name with your thumbnail. You just have to resist the urge.
7’ long table using 4 2x8’s on top with 2 2x4’s in the middle. The bench is also 7’ long. I changed up the bottom on the bench to make it super sturdy (added angle braces).
I love working with wood and constructing the deck sofa is the largest wood project that I have done on my own. Outside if the necessary wood and screws I purchased a mitre saw and a Kreg gig. The instructions were clear and accurate. With the addition of custom box cushion made this project complete! Thank you Anna White for your encouragement and sharing your talent with us.
