Have you made the $10 Ledges yet? They are inspired by ledges from Pottery Barn that, as Whitney puts it, cost eight times as much for half the length.
With this years big blog goal to add more video tutorials, the $10 Ledge Plans were top on my list for creating a video tutorial. Always trying to give you new ideas and more, the video shows how you can use pocket holes to create the $10 ledges.

I was thinking the same thing...I built mine in a matter of minutes and then sat puzzled as to how to hang them :) I'm hoping there's a "Here's how to hang the awesome ledges you just created" video that I just haven't stumbled upon yet...care to clue us in Ana?

Shelf Hanging
For this project in the video, we drilled pocket holes on the back side, and used them as "keyholes" for hanging with screws in the wall.
For the ones at my house, I just screwed through the back into studs in the wall - the frames covered all screws.
You could also use D-rings or any other type of picture hanging kit. Just make sure you are properly secured to the wall and the hanging kit is appropriate for the shelf weight and contents.
Hope this helps! Thanks everyone for checking out the video - hope to be able to add more videos over time!

hanging shelves
I love these shelves and have acually been eyeing the PB ones - I'm so excited to make them myself now! One questions, however ... it does seem that drilling straight through the back into the studs would be the most secure way to hang these shelves. Our house has metal framework and I'm not sure if that shoudl be treated the same as wood studs or not - can someone please tell me what the best way to secure something into metal studs is??

Butterfly bolts
You can buy butterfly bolts that clamp pretty solidly to the wall. You have to drill through the drywall and avoid the studs in that case.
It is technically possible to drill into some kinds of metal stud, if you have the ones shaped like a 2x4. If you have the kind that are an open wire grid, it doesn't work so well.

Ooo. I was just thinking about doing this project (Space Saving, Behind-the-Door Bookshelves), and I think these ledges would be perfect for that!

I’ve have been doing
I’ve have been doing woodworking for years. My friends keep telling me to get a Kreg Jig. My answer has always been, serious woodworkers don’t use Kreg Jigs!
I’m in the process of finishing a bathroom and I have to make a custom mirror. ( can’t find one we like) Running short on time, I half heartedly decided to buy a Kreg Jig. The lady at the store handed me a piece of paper and written on it was Anawhite.com. I asked her whats this? She told me to check your site out maybe I could learn something! I laughed and said ya whatever.
So tonight I was working on the computer and someone called. Looking for a piece of paper to take down a number, I pulled one out of my pocket and saw Anawhite.com. What the heck I’ll check it out it can’t be that bad.
So first of all, I’m so totally impressed by you and the people that post on your site that I owe you and them an apology. I consider woodworking as work, you make it fun!
Second, you really need to get a show on DYI network. That channel runs 24/7 at this house and the only thing missing is you. I really enjoyed your site.

Work Bench Source
Great video. I love your blue accented work bench used in the video. It looks very handy. Can you tell me who manufactures the work bench shown?
I want to get started on some projects and it would be a perfect tool to use.Thanks.

Ledges
Very nice video. I'm Brazilian and I was surfing the net for some DIY ideas. in Brazil I am language teacher and I was looking for simple ledges for my most used books and have them above my work desk. More than the ledge itself I got impressed with the simple and very effective way you presented your video. It sounds very professional in my point of view. Excellent sound and clear image. Congratulations! And I would like to add that I am fan of bird nests. I have built three of them. Every new birdnest more sophisticated than the previous one. You could open a "Visitors' Section" for us to show our homemade furniture and decoration items inspired on your works or simply to show some of our ideas. Congratulations again!

work bench
just bought my first kreg jig today plus the lumber...so excited to get started:)
I was wondering, as well, about the work bench you use. It's the perfect size for my small workspace and have been doing some online shopping for just the right bench but haven't found one that speaks to me yet.
Thank you for this wonderful blog:)
