Loved this idea so much - I developed it as a kit for my Scouts to put together.
Love this new piece in our game room. It was my husband's first time using the Kreg tool and it went relatively smoothly!
I followed the plans given, then painted it white and stained the roof with a dark finish.
I made three of these caddies from Ana's 'Reclaimed Soda Crate Caddy' plan. I finished all three in white semi-gloss paint and added mason jars to hold flowers, pens, silverware, you name it. I kept one for myself and gave the other two to my mom and mom-in-law for Mother's Day. I completed this project around 3 years ago, and since then have used my flower caddy whenever I remember to get a bouquet. It always brightens up my decor and receives compliments. It's a very cute and unique project. Enjoy!
Built this several years ago to display my sons action figures
Started with building the table for our ever expanding family. We priced out a new table and chairs at the price of $3700 and was able to build the table, bench and 5 chairs for $400. The table is perfect for our big family and very solid. The bench and chairs went together fairly easily. I adapted 1 of the chairs for my son who has to have arms to keep him safe. Great for any family.

My awesome husband built this bed for our 5 year old. My son loves it!
We didn't have room for the full steps so my husband changed those to a simple ladder vertically up to the platform.
We have our rocker under the bed right now but it's really too tight to stay there. All in all a great bed!
We built a slightly sturdier version of this patio table with 4x4 legs instead of 2x4 legs.

Made these for my niece as a wedding gift. These were one of the first of many of these I have made.

I had a long empty space of wall that I wanted to fill. I wanted something similar to the Pottery Barn Ledge Shelves, but I needed it to fit a specific space so I decided to make one myself. I am pretty happy with it... I made it before I had my mitre saw, otherwise my cuts would have been a bit cleaner. So it has a bit of a rustic look to it since my cuts were all done with a hand saw. It was an easy one nap DIY! And best of all, we had all the supplies (wood, screws, nails, nail hole filler and paint) in the basement from other projects.

I created these 16" cedar patio planters using Ana's plans. I bought four 6' cedar pickets from Lowe's for $1.98 each or under $8 for the lot. I used the extra picket to cut our my 1x2s and 1x3s so the whole construction is made of cedar including the pieces to hold a potted plant. I used Behr's clear and cedar finish to complete the job in under 1 hour. Thanks Ana for the motivation.

It must have felt so satisfying to complete this project for your daughter and to know years from now that it will last and you'll know that you had built it. Although projects take time, I enjoy that once they are done, you have a functional piece of furniture that you could use over a lifetime. Like the birth of a new child, I nearly forget the labor once I see the finished piece.
Wanting to replace our white laminate counters, but not having the funds made us think outside of the box. We used these aspen boards to make the most beautiful and durable countertops. Check out my blog post to see step by step instructions and hilarity.

This is my first ever woodworking project and I'm really pleased with how it looks! Thank you for the plans, they were really clear and the video was the perfect guide for someone like me who had never done this before. Assembly took a couple of weekends I think. I had to predrill holes and I found the cuts for the x a bit difficult to do so had to try a couple of times. But definitely doable and very satisfying to have built something!
I've been trying to decide which project I'd like to tackle first. So, I decided, since I have been looking for a puppy, a dog bed would be a good start. With the inspiration of Ana's farmhouse doll bed and moosmani's doggie daybed, I tweaked them both and came up with my own. I have to say, for my first project, I am extremely proud! I made a few mistakes, that only I noticed when it was done. But I love how it turned out. I already have a couple people who want me to build them one. I can't wait to take on even bigger projects!
I built this outdoor play area for my kids this past summer. The area under that portion of the deck was always messy and muddy and so I wanted to make use of it. I built the deck and anchored it with lag bolts to the deck supports. On the one side I used rubber mulch and on the other there is play sand. I dug holes in various locations and filled with gravel to allow for drainage under the sand and mulch. For the awning I used plain cedar shingles. I added a shower that is just regular 1/2" metal pipe with a hose adaptor. The shower wall and fence are just old pallets that I had for a while, cut to size, which was pretty much random but they came out great. I added a misting system under the awning that works great, the kids love the cool mist on the hot days. Overall, a heavy job ripping up the grass, moving the wood, gravel, stones, sand and mulch, but a fun deck build and even better experience doing this with my kids by my side!
