I love the idea of adding the A-frame considering that where i live there are no real trees to hang it on and building a porch where one doesn't already exist is a pain in the butt! Lol. How wide do you think we could go before it starts compromising the frames integrity? And how much weight can it hold?

Spare Bed Frame

I "doctored" the plans for the reclaimed wood look headboard to using 4x4's for legs and created a footboard of the same style. I then make the siderails for my bedframe by laminating a 2x8 to a 2x6 to completely encase the box frame. I was able to put my boxframe inside by screwing and gluing 2x2's along the inside of the frame. This is a STURDY bed frame!

Cubby Storage Bench - First Project!

This was our first attempt at making furniture and even though the difficulty rating was ‘intermediate’, the detailed instructions made the process less complicated. Our version of Anna White Essential Entryway Bench turned out better than we expected! Once it was built, I stained it grey, painted it white, then distressed it to make it look antique. I added a custom made foam cushion to the top and, voila!

Farmhouse Chairs

I found a picture of this style of chairs, and I really wanted to make them for my table. I created my own plans and adjusted them until they were perfect. I’ve since made several sets of chairs for other people including this set of 6.

After sanding down the chairs, I apply a coat of Preston by minwax. To get the color I wipe on the stain gunstock by winwax. After letting it dry for about an hour, I then wipe on a coat of espresso stain. For the finish, I apply coats of a gloss polyurethane by Minwax.

Rustic half X Hall Tree

Just finished this tonight. Decided to make it a little wider than the plans. Added bead board on the back. I also made the top shelf a little larger so I can come back later and add some LED lights on it. Because I made the top shelf bigger I wanted to add the angled supports. That’s why I didn’t do an “x” on the bottom so the shelf support would mimick the slanted piece in the bottom.

This bookcase wouldn't be out of place amongst the Pottery Barn's bookcases. In fact, it inspired me to go out this afternoon and buy some cedar boards so I can start building my own version first thing tomorrow. Thank you, Becky.

Playhouse

We built this playhouse for our daughter's 6th birthday. She absolutely loves it! We were looking at purchasing one, but they were way out of our budget. Ana saved the day with these plans :).

We painted the house with white Pittsburg Ultra Exterior Latex paint. The mailbox, door and shutters were all painted with Pink Viburnum Sherwin Williams Satin Exterior paint.

Changing table

With the arrival of our first baby in 10 days,  the wife wanted a changing table. My only vision of a changing table was the ones in public restrooms. With the help of Google, I came across all the great diy ideas on this site. I combined 3 plans into 1 and came up with this. The project took 2 days to build. Next step is to prime and paint.

Herb Garden Planter { $2 }

Garage Shelving

I am a beginner diy'er and this was one of my first projects.  Also it was my first time using the Kreg jig and I loved it!  My shelving system was around 8 feet tall, 12 feet wide and 30 inches deep.  I added some extra cleats to support my deeper shelves (30") and also used thicker (5/8") plywood.  This was a fun and easy project to do!  Thanks so much!

Amazing what some basic lumber can make! Read the comments included with the instructions ... the 1 x 4 cut list was especially helpful. All told it was under $30 for a very comfortable sturdy Adi !! Some modifications I did for mine ... I used pocket screws to attach the seat slats and arm rests ... no splinters :) I found it easier to attache the middle back support loosely to the arm supports, then attach to the back slats in the correct position Paint was Clark & Kensington All-In-One from Ace in Fairfield Manor -- it's a beautiful watery green ... perfect!! Thanks Again Ana!!
