Cedar Planter Boxes

They were simple to make and the plan was easy to follow. The only modification I made was adding the 1x3 topper in place of the longer legs sticking out of the top.

My wife and I are expecting our first child so I wanted to make a toybox for his toys. I liked the plan that i found on this website since the front piece had the cutout to reduce fingers getting pinched. I also added some spring assisted hinges to make help the lid stay up and also close a little softer than just regular hinges.
Hi friends!
Jen Woodhouse from The House of Wood here.
After sharing my new dining room, I got a lot of requests for plans for my dining table, so I’m thrilled to finally deliver. The box joints on the legs add just the right amount of detail to this dining table, don’t you think?
Be sure to tag me @jenwoodhouse if you share photos of your build on social media. I'd love to see it!
You can get all the details for this build on my website jenwoodhouse.com
I used Ana's Farmhouse Potting Bench plans and modified it to be more compact and left out the x detail. I built it for under $40 in material.
Modifications for Shopping and Cut List - Construction and placement is same as Ana's original plan, so make sure you look that over.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband, who has resurrected his old turntable. I wanted the stand to be the same height as the chest I had previously refinished to house our stereo and cds. I also wanted to have two shelves for vinyl, so I modified the Channing bookcase to fit.

My husband has been looking for a stand for his turn table and this one looks perfect! Do you mind my asking for the adjusted measurements? I’d love to see if we could make one for him, if you don’t mind sharing. It looks fantastic!

Apologies, I have not checked the site in almost a year. The height of the unit is 37,3/4' tall, the shelf widths are 14" inner width, and the spacing between shelves is 13" between the lower 2 shelves for vinyl, and 5" for the top shelf (for brushes or an occasional CD. Hope that helps.
Modified the junior loft plan to add a house design element and storage stairs, by Amy Mott
This was my first attempt at making anything out of wood. I was thankful for guidance from my husband but I did it myself!!!

Great job! These little side tables are perfect! LOVE!
Thank you so much for sharing a brag post!
Had the perfect space for a little playhouse under the stairs in the basement and it's been our plan for 4 years to do something. Finally, we did something. Wanted depth so I added the roof and portico. Also added cedar shingles that I picked up for $7 at HD. Inside I had extra laminate flooring so I put that down and added beadboard, chair rail and crown molding. There's also a small transom window above the small kitchen area. The kids love the barnhouse doors with old fashioned doorbell, mailslot and window. The bookshelf under the stairs was the final touch. I didn't use any plans from this awesome site but did, as always, get a bunch of tips and inspiration!

Wow! That is awesome!
You really did a great job on that! So imaginative, too. WTG!

That is so stinkin' adorable! Fantastic job. I love everything about it. Your kids (and grandkids) will remember the playhouse under that stairs forever!

Wow, this is too cool! They are going to love love love this! Can't wait to see the kitchen reveal!

You did an amazing job on this. I'm planning a bunkbed with a similar facade. I love how cozy it looks without having to make an actual pitched roof. The shingles are such a nice touch that I may have to copy you! And it's wired for lights; you've really outdone yourself.

Thanks to all of you for the nice comments! Re: the door, I just cut a plain 18x80 door slab ($21 from orange) and trimmed it out. I still need to put the window grille over the open space, and was hoping to find a cool 'speak easy' grille that fits the space.
Thanks again!

This has to be one of the most adorable things I've ever seen! What an awesome idea......how cool is that for the kids??! Love the lighting and the laminate (or is it hardwood) flooring inside. Even the stove is gorgeous! Such fond memories will be made there and remembered forever. Kudos!!

I love this. I was just wondering about the little red kitchen. It looks like something I remember as a little girl back in the 60s. Did you make it or buy it somewhere?

Oh my goodness this is such an inspiration! However, as a beginning tool user, I don't think I could get my finishes so nice. How much experience had you had at this kind of stuff before? Was the area closed in before this project or did you do that too? I've got an open stairway into our basement and would be starting from scratch with ceiling, walls, etc. and have no experience hanging drywall or anything. I think it would take me a year. Great job, and thanks for sharing!

Hi there!
I was just wondering how you made the door for your play house? We're basically stuck at this level in ours right now... ;) Thanks for any tips!!!
We made a beverage station for the corner of the kitchen!

We didn't use a plan for this but, if someone wants to build it, check out the linked YouTube video.

Amazing! Thanks so much for adding a brag post and linking to your video!

Hello! Was looking to see if this is something you would be interested in building for us? We are in love with this project but don't have the tools or means to do it ourself..
Can talk about pricing / size etc.
Thanks!
I used a modified version of the narrow drawer unit as the foundation for this desk build. I decided to make wooden drawer guides rather than using manufacturer metal guides. I liked the idea of it having a more traditional wood-on-wood feel and saving a few dollars. I love the simplicity of the base cabinet design and the contrast between the painted base and stained top. Thanks yo all who shared their projects for the inspiration!
I needed to find a way to conserve space for 3 children to sleep in a very small home. I used an adapted pattern from Ana White. It turned out perfectly!

WOW, this is great, you fit a lot of sleeping in a small space!
I wanted a china hutch in my dining room, but did not have the space. Instead, I built a wall-mounted hutch, which provided room for the dining room chairs to slide back from the table. I altered the plans to make the hutch less deep and added a trim piece along the bottom. My favorite part about this hutch is decorating it for every holiday and season. Thank you Ana White!

wow, this hutch is beautiful! I love how you built it without the base, makes sense in your space!

These look great! Did you use the cedar tone water proofing?
Large Banquette Bench with Storage (12’x7’)
Anna from Louisiana
We are used to seeing our grandson every weekend but during the 2020 COVID quarantine we were unable to do so. Instead, we filled our time building him a swing set for our backyard. He loved it!! We are going to add more to the swing side but the hardware I want isn't available right now (apparently there is a lot of swing set building going on during this time). I look forward to many years of playing on this with our grandson and hopefully additional grandkids in the future... Our cost was pretty high mainly because our first round of lumber came from a local lumberyard that was willing to deliver within a few days (big box was going to take several weeks) and they had what is supposed to be higher end lumber (not sure I am convinced of that)....also, i chose some pretty expensive hardware (brackets) just for the added security.....
A modification of the traditional work bench. Great for storage. Bench area of 70 inches with 18 additional inches for the table saw.
After scouring the internet for a piece of furniture that could hide my shredder and act as a filing cabinet, I decided to look here, and lo and behold, Ana had posted this project the week before. It was literally an answer to prayers!
I had a lot of leftover plywood that I cut to size to build this project. The drawer slides were the most expensive part of this project. It was pretty tough and I made a lot of mistakes, but I am very happy with it. It was just what I was looking for. Installing the drawers was the hardest part of this project. I made the shredder compartment to fit my specific shredder, and it barely fits. I already had drawer pulls and paint.

It's a hard working piece and you did a great job! Thanks for sharing:)
We needed a big sturdy table for 8-12 persons for our big dinning room but didn't want to pay 3000$ for it. Then i found Ana-white's site and thought "why not!". It's my first project, i started whit the bench and then made the table. All buy myself, my husby doesn't even know how to use a saw. He help me carry it inside thought ;) The plans were realy easy to follow. Somebody stop me, i'm refurnishing my hole house, i can't stop! In 2 months i'v made 2 dinning tables, 2 patio tables, 1 coffe table, 5 benches. So if i can do it, you can too!
This was my first attempt after finding the site. I was so happy with the ease of the plans and the way it turned out i made the dining table

These are great!
Adding these to my to-do list for spring (yes, I plan ahead). I'm thinking of elevating and elongating them to fit around a bay window.
