Ukrainian Sand box with built-in seats

I used the Modern Outdoor Chair from 2x4s and 2x6s plans and slightly modified then to make a 3 seater couch. My cushions(most expensive part) were 24 in x 24 in and purchased from Lowes for $40 per seat. The couch is 79 inches in total length. I also dropped the seat down to the lower level to allow more room for my cushion backs to sit further down into the seat.
I moved into a new house and needed a new chicken coop. I am retired and not a woodworker but these plans were easy to build. Thanks Ana.

Loved how easy to follow along the instructions were for my first ever project.

This was my first time DIYing furniture, so I definitely came up with a very easy design!
The dimensions for this sofa are modern as it sits low to the ground and has a squarish appearance.
Free detailed plan on Blog: www.MinimalistFarmStyle.com
We made some modifications to the greenhouse to include a bench with three levels, a working bench and a square foot garden. We also put it on concrete to keep all the weeds out from the bottom as well.
Love your easy instructions! I used all 2x4's because it was made with left over wood from another project. I burned the top pieces to get the grain to stand out and painted the legs. I think they turned out beautiful. I also used your 2x4 Adirondack Chair Plan to match the bench.
Thanks,
Yvette
Built a full size loft bed for my kids but wanted something safer than having them climb up and down a ladder so used the Camp Loft Bed plans to add the platform and stairs. It is much easier for the kids. Going to finish by covering the platform and stairs with carpet.

I really like how the platform is only half way so the stairs are inset, this is very smart and good use of space.
I built this for my daughter after Christmas sinse she had the living room covered in toys. The dimensions are 37" x 18" x 20"

Looking at the wall panels they look like the long edge of each panel has a small bevel cut on it. This gives each panel edge a more pronounced or well-defined edge? Is this true? Was it done with a router?
We have considered buying a cedar-lined chest to store blankets, towels, etc. for many years. However, we couldn’t find one that came close to matching the Knotty Pine bedroom set that we had in our master suite.
Hence, our design criteria was quite simple; match the bedroom set and have a chest sturdy enough to support our Beagles as they peer at the squirrels outside the window.
We used plans / ideas from several different chest designs which were readily available on the internet. Most of those plans were using hard woods such as oak. Those plans called for a hard wood framing with ¼” oak plywood for the panels. Since we needed to use Knotty Pine to match the bedroom set, we used 1” Knotty Pine for framing and Knotty Pine ¾ ply w/ Kreg Screws and copious glue to strengthen the construct. We finished it off with locally available 3/8” cedar T.G. planks. It is very heavy and very strong! This project was done entirely w/ Kreg Screws and no router rabbeting for the panels.
We learned the following while doing this project:
· When using soft woods, always put the power sander on the wood before you start the sander. Otherwise, you can get scratching / sander burns that don’t present themselves until staining begins.
· While very strong, ¾” plywood is very heavy!
· When using plywood, it is recommended that you stain both the visible and non-visible sides of each piece where glue is not to be applied. Otherwise the chance for delaminating increases dramatically.
60 hours work and $350 to build.

Beautiful chest. I better get busy and make one.
I live in a smaller rental with limited garage space, so I needed a place for my kids bikes. This is what I came up with. It required minimal screw holes in the treated fence posts and I attached a rail system(rubbermaid fasttrak) for the bikes to hang from. I used Ana's easy shelves plan for the upright supports and then just added some corrugated roofing and cedar fence pickets (which I had on hand) to finish off the top.
See more photos and details here https://instagram.com/tom_morgan_nc?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
I made a 14 foot table using Ana's plans. I am remodeling my parents house that they built in 1966. I was able to use some 4x6's for the legs from walls that I took down.

Hi that looks amazing! I’m looking to make the same size table. Could you please tell me the measurements of your legs? Also what length support boards did you use. Thanks
My wife saw your post for this shelf and knew it would be perfect for our half-bathroom. She showed it to me and I agreed. I built it in a few hours one afternoon. Stained and sealed a few days later and it fits perfectly. Now we just need to wait (impatiently) for everything to cure so we can actually begin to use it. We'll try and share another final photo when in full use.
With another baby boy arriving in August, my one and three year olds are moving to a "big boy" room. My oldest decided he wanted a bunk bed and as they both are obsessed with tractors, when I saw the "John Deere Tractor Bunk Bed" plan, I was sold.
We would be needing a twin sized bunk bed though not a toddler. I used the classic bunk bed plans and simply modified them to suit our needs. I moved the ladder to the front, added a rail on the bottom bunk and added a small ladder to the side for my one year old to climb into the bottom bunk.
Once the the frame of the bed was complete, I added the tractor accessories. A couple of storage cubby shelves with fabric baskets for toy tractors which act as stairs up to the ladder and make the tractor bucket at the front. Also, the wheels which are made from joined 1x6s as I find plywood hard to sand and paint to the quality of finish I like. A cab & roof from 1x4s framed together. A side mirror that I decoupaged a picture of another tractor on. I used push lights for the headlights as well as a reading light above each bed (they're on timers so they'll turn themselves off). A steering wheel (play equipment access from toys r us). Also, I built and mounted by the head of both beds a "flat wall book holder" so they would have somewhere to store a few books.
My boys and I are fairly new to building so I spent a lot of time planning and measuring to ensure it would all come together in the end. It paid off because it all went smoothly (even with "help" from my boys). It's not perfect but they're very happy with the result. We also built a John Deere themed "Just my size closet" and even finished with over a month to spare before the new baby arrives! :)
Just want to say a quick thank you to Ana both for the amazing plans and also the inspiration to take on these projects. The time spent with my boys building as well as the resulting treasures are priceless and I would have never realized what we were capable of had I not stumbled upon your website and been so inspired by you and everything you've accomplished. Thank you!

HI! You did an amazing job with this! Is there any way you can post the plans or send them to me? Thanks in advance.
Mon, 11/03/2014 - 07:48
Sorry for the slow response to those requesting plans. For main structure of the bunk bed, I used Ana's "Classic Bunk Bed" plans. For all of the add-ons, I made up my own plans. I'm pretty low tech so unfortunately they're just pencil & paper plans but I'd be happy to scan and email them to you if you're interested. Just message me and I'll send them your way. :)

Hi
I didnt receive any plans. couldyou send methem please
Thanks
Jason
I made this in an afternoon. Loved this project. It is made with 2x4's using a Kregs Jig and mitre saw (plus additional tools like a drill and square). This was my frist time using the Kregs Jig and I am sold!!
The free plans were taken from another website. They are very detailed and there is even a video (I recommend it as he gives a great tip for making sure the back stays equal/level to each other before putting the back on). Even though you can build this by yourself, I did have help for the heavier sides once they were assembled. I plan to build the additional side table soon and finish them both with sanding and staining when the weather seems less iffy for rain.
If you are looking for a good beginner project that doesn't take forever or have complicated steps, this is your project.
Easy to build, easy to customize, perfect for totes
Plans were easy to follow and we were able to build it using scrap and salvaged wood, and leftover paint. Only had to buy screws and the chalkboard sign materials, so very affordable to make. Birthday boy LOVES it! We set it up with some bakery toys, but the dramatic play options are virtually endless. This is one of those type of toys that will be part of all kinds of play with kids of all ages. The size is great for him at 3 years old but I expect it will be usable for many years before he outgrows it. Well worth making.
Instead of attaching the top to the coffee table base as done in the plans, the top is attached using a set of coffee table lift top hinges.

Looks wonderful, love the finish. What kind of stain did you use?

I love this table. It is just what l have been looking for. Is there any instructions. I would love to make this.
thanks

I used a mix of 2x4's and 1x4's for this project. It is only 4 feet long so I thought 2x4's would make it too bulky. It goes together very quickly and it looks great!
