We run a fence company. The best thing about this project is that it cost me $0!! I used 2X4 cutoffs that we were going to trash!
Expecting our second child, my wife and I decided to do away with our guest bedroom and combine it with our office. The only problem was our queen bed took up way too much space and it didn't get enough use to justify the sacrifice. We looked at the wall bed options available for purchase and decided they were way too blah and very expensive. I then found the "A MURPHY BED YOU CAN BUILD, AND AFFORD TO BUILD" post on Ana's website (thanks for the inspiration)!
Using cheap pine boards, plywood, door hinges, vinyl upholstery and stain I constructed the wall bed you see here. It really wasn't that difficult but facing it took the most time. To give the boards a more rustic look I used a utility knife to shave off the edges/corners and stained them with the Minwax American Walnut water based stain and the Minwax White Wash Pickling. When this started we thought we were going to have to settle for something unattractive and less than desirable. Seeing it in our office now, we love our new bed and actually think it makes the room look much better! I didn't keep track of costs, but it couldn't have been more than $150.

I would have to measure it when I get home... at work currently. Looking back, I think the best approach is to take the measurements from the plan, find the difference between standard mattress and queen mattress dimensions (check wikipedia for standard sizes), then add that difference back to the plan. I cut it real close on mine and could use a little more space. It would be nice to make it a bit deeper and with some head room to store comforters and pillows.

To fasten the facing I used wood glue then a Ryobi 18ga nail gun. It's part of their 18v One+ line and works great!

This organizer is perfect for an entry way! Hooks are at the hight of my toddler so he might learn one day to keep his coat of the floor. Few things are different from Ana's . I do not own a tool to make pocket holes so I had to improvise a bit and I used an old yoga mat instead of pin board. Thank you for this one!
I finally got tired of my computer set up being on my sewing table. I will be working from home for quite some time and I'm so glad I finally have a designated desk for work.
This desk came out perfect. It's not too difficult but the X did take some time to get right. Used Ana's video instructions.

The plans are for a different bed than the one in the picture.
I repurpose furniture as a hobby and I got tired of having my tools hanging on a wall on the other side of the garage so I bult this rolling tool caddy. It is made out of 3/4" plywood, a couple of 2x4's and some heavy-duty casters. I built one about 3 years ago and realized that there were some things I wanted to do differently so I sold it and bult this one. My wife gave me a subscription to SketchUp and I had fun drawing it up and tweaking it. I left an over hang of 3" on both sides so I could store my clamps. I also attached an electrical cord reel on the right side and reversed the ends so the male end can plug into the wall and I can roll the unit across the room allowing me to be able to charge my batteries. The back side has a 44 drawer storage organizer and also a few shelves for additional tools like a router and a multi-tool. I'm not nearly the craftsman many of you are and I'm sure you could do a much better job. I didn't build it to look pretty but to be functional and it works for me.

I really like this idea. I have my tools hung up neat all around the garage, but I keep walking back and forth for tools and batteries. It would be great to roll this over to a project and have everything you need right there. Nice work. I will modify one for my needs.

there are some very thoughtful features on this, notably the wings at the top and the bottom for clamps and extra tools and the different shelf heights. Well done! I'm going to build one just like it and a power strip for battery storage.

My young boys had been sharing a full bed and it was awful. We had an extra twin mattress so it was time to make them a bed. Loved the camp loft bed plan with stairs so that's what I went with. I did the Hailey bed frame plan for the full bed underneath and made some small adjustments on the loft bed - made it 6" higher, 18" longer (wanted room for a bedside table next to the full bed underneath - I just added extra decking on the top bunk part to fill in the space), and had to adjust the stair height because I wanted it to fit under the window - so only needed two steps instead of 3. The boys absolutely love it and their sisters did too - now I'm building 2 loft beds for their room, with a platform in-between the two beds. Will post that when finished! Still need to make a headboard for the full bed as well, but it works for now!
This was just a standard BBQ with an attached folding table. I used a combo of Ana's plans to add a little character and style to the BBQ and it made a huge difference in not only the BBQ, but also the backyard.

Hello: Very interested in which plans you used to build the BBQ Built In. Thank you.
We are remodeling our 3 bedroom house into a 4 bedroom. In doing so, my youngest is getting the smaller room. We decided to go with a Murphy bed to allow more play time space. I do not particularly like the fact that this bed doesn’t sit off the ground but overall love the simplicity of making it. We turned it horizontal and just love the overall product. I can mot wait to make something else from this site!

We had gotten a piece of granite for free, so my husband modified the plans to fit the slab. We made one in pressure treated lumber and loved the look so we decided to make a nicer one in cedar. The benches are a little wider because of the size boards available. We could have ripped them down, but we prefer the wider seat. I will sand the seats and seal the wood to keep it looking fresh longer. We look forward to many great memories at our new table by our outside fireplace. Thank you for the great plans!
I built the outside shelves first for my husband's plants. The coat rack section was added last after a modification of the original plan. I did not paint or finish the shelves as we are still deciding, but I do sort of like the scandi look of it as it against our gray walls & the greenery of the plants. Feel free to offer any finishing recommendations if you comment. Once all parts were cut to size for our space, assembly took very little time. Shelving in the plant sections were made from reclaimed IKEA shelving boards. Thanks for the plans, Ana, as this solved a problem for us because we do not have a coat closet at the front door and these windows provide the best light in the house for my husband's growing plant collection!

I used Ana's Freestanding Shelf plan and customized it to fit my needs. I incorporated laundry and recycle storage, a rolling bench and built in for our chest freezer. I used the Master Closet system plans with a slight modifcation for the slanted cellings
My father and I made this awesome poolside towel cabinet using the Benchmark Cabinet plans. A super easy 1 day build and it looks amazing on the patio. Bring on the pool weather!
Followed Anna White’s plans except I beveled all the edges and flooded the table leg bottoms with penetrating epoxy sealer. The table looks great!
