My take on the Rustic X Console
Plans with accompanying video were just perfect and we built two holders in a few hours. Stained with 2 coats of Minwax Cherry and applied Minwax Finishing Paste as topcoat. My wife created a template for the 3 part circle wood section and used a scroll saw for the cuts. We will be building more sets of the wine holders as gifts for family and friends.

Let me tell you how happy I am that I have found this site.. This is my second project from this site that I have completed, but definitely not my last ( just haven't "bragged" about the first one yet) But any who....THANK YOU ANA FOR ALL YOU DO!!!
So I recently bought my first home and since then I wanted to make it MINE.. I always find my self glued to pinterest always looking for something to make or get into. That's when I came across this site and my mind started filling up with ideas and things I wanted to do for my house. When I first moved into my home it was during the summer time, and I didn't have any patio furniture and didn't have the finances to buy any. I know that summer is now right around the corner and I wanted to enjoy my back yard this year and be able to sit outside. Well.. I have found the answer to the problem. Why not build one... And o yea.. for $45.. Wow.. cant beat that.. So I have now completed my first Patio chair.. All I have to do now is Just build the love seat and couch and ill be all completed and set for summer.
The project was not difficult at all.. The only thing I alter was the back tie in, which was suggested in the comments that its better inside the chair then out.. Other than that.. follow the plans and it will be easy and wont cost more than expected.

This took a lot of time. Many nights and weekends. We used a grey stain and poly for the planks and white paint and poly for the trim. I had to remove the under bed storage because the mattresses we bought were very thick so it was modified a little. Also I added some additional support to each side with another 2x4 because I felt it wasn't sturdy enough with just one support on the stair side. I also included a full roof with cedar shingles so that one of my twin boys doesn't jump out. They are 3 year old maniacs.

My wife wanted/needed a kitchen island for more storage and prep space. After seeing the prices online of nice kitchen islands, I decided to take the time to make her this one. I would mark this as advanced due to the numerous cuts, joinery techniques, and sheer prep time it took. The build was a success as on Christmas morning once she saw this she cried out of joy! It took the better part of a month because I Hand Hewed with an axe the legs, the whitewash finish is of my own design(a 6 step process), all pieces were sanded, finished, and distressed before assembly. For the butcher block, I used Anna's rustic-x coffee table top design- I only wish I had a jointer so I could have the slabs flush, but I did plane and sand all the way from 80 grit to 240 grit to create a smooth finish. Then all pieces were treated with multiple coats and buffings of citrus wood wax.
I built this play horse barn for my daughter. She loves to play with toy horses. It is 33 x 28 Has a removable hay loft, Stales with working doors and drop down hay loft doors. Hinged on both roof sections for easy play. Lots of love and effort went into making this. I hope you enjoy.

Since my entryway room has 9' ceilings, I wanted something a little taller. I modified the hutch plans for 60" and added another shelf. I used 4 flat metal plates with pre-driled screw-holes to attach tops to bottoms, the bottoms to each other, and one bridging the top.
we used the loft bed plan, cut it down smaller for a toddler. Instead of a ladder we created stairs for it. My son loved to play on this bed but not to sleep on so we came up with the lego farm house bed
Thanks for these great plans. I was able to knock out the project in about two weeks with some late nights thrown in. For the siding, I went with weathered gray ship lap paneling instead of the 1x material. I think it turned out great!
I built this dresser for my wife. When we moved in, we got new furniture for my 2 boys. But didnt have much for ourselves in our room. She deserves a nice peice like this to put her clothes in. Its built from 1" solid cherry boards. Finished is a simple boiled linseed oil with shellac.
I built these planter boxes to hold my raspberry and blueberry plants. Also by connecting them with 2x2s, it keeps my dogs out of the garden
Inspired by the Farm House table plans. I scored a bunch of old reclaimed barn wood from a friend of mine and decided it would make a perfect table top. I finished our basement and we moved our living room downstairs as planned. Which left us with a very large and very vacant room in the front of our house (14' x 21'). We had always planed to turn this into our dining room when the basement was done since we have no other formal dining space in the house. So this was the first piece of many to be build and placed in the room.
The table is 9ft long and the top is 7/4 thick oak floor boards. I took them down to a local cabinet shop and they jointed the edges, planed the top and bottom, glued them up and cut them down to 9ft (started at 12') for $50. Best $50 ever spent. I live close to Amish country so there are a lot of wood suppliers locally, I found a guy who sells stairway newels and all kinds of posts at super low costs. I picked up all for of my legs for $10 a piece. The exact same post was $33 at my Menards. I just trimmed them up to size and was good to go. I had the same cabinet shop mill the lumber for the aprons and stretcher as well. Its all 1" thick maple with a nice little rabbit cut in the long aprons to act as a ledge for my cross supports. To finish up the legs I added some 4" baseboard to thicken up the look of the bottom legs.
I'm super pleased with how it turned out and so is my wife, which is all that really matters anyway. Next up, entry way bench, 8 Parsons chairs and a steel pipe buffet...

I actually live in Massillon, Akron-Canton area. The guy with the posts is right outside of winesburg. I have his business card at home and I'll send you the info when I get home. Its at this little flea-market pole building area. Its publicly open from I think May-Oct, but if you call him he'll meet you there by appointment. He had a ton of stuff. Mine we some of the most "expensive" since they were like 5ft tall before I cut them down.

I couldn't find any corner TV stands with the barndoor style that were big enough, so I decided to design and make my own using the Grandy buffet design.

New Deck Chair
I used the Murphy Bed Plan that Ana had on her website. I modified it so that it would look more like a dresser and would fit into the space that I have. It is perfect and I have used it myself just to see if it was comfy. It was!!! :)

What an amazing job! Really looks just like a dresser. The lock closure is a great idea for keeping it securely closed. Beautiful finish, and the fabric and stencils are so creative!

I was afraid little hands would pull it open ... hence the idea of a lock. Now I just have to spray paint it to have it blend in :)

Inspired by both Ana's Industrial Closet design and the Sliding Mirror Cabinet.
Making maximum use out of a small space, bought a mirror from Ikea and removed it from the existing frame, everything made in virgin wood from DIY store. Two tier clothes rail to separate big coats from other clothes, two height shelf system to accomodate sloped ceiling. A lot of fun to make!
Just finished this tonight. Decided to make it a little wider than the plans. Added bead board on the back. I also made the top shelf a little larger so I can come back later and add some LED lights on it. Because I made the top shelf bigger I wanted to add the angled supports. That’s why I didn’t do an “x” on the bottom so the shelf support would mimick the slanted piece in the bottom.
