Dress up tower for my 4 yr old daughter to hang her pretty play costumes and princess outfits.

This is my first wood working project I've done. I am definitely a beginner, but feel that it turned out great. The project instructions were easy to follow and very descriptive. Some of the problems I ran into was my hardware store had a very limited selection of wood to choose from. I ended up buying a 2x4x1/2 sheet of plywood for the sides so when I made my cuts, I didn't take into account that the blade from the saw would eat up an 1/8" of wood which made my cuts off. Next when I was attaching the 1x2s and 1x3s to the plywood, I didn't realize I clamped the wood to hard which left a slight bend in my joined pieces. Overall I feel the project turned out great and my 3 year old loved it (which is the most important thing)!! I look forward to making more projects, to include another toy box.

chunky-leg vanity for spa-like bathroom.

Modified the kids country to a smaller size to fit in a tight area. The coat rack I did freestyle. Both made from scraps, the metal hangers are antiques that I have been holdiing onto for 20 years.

I wanted to surprise someone special with just the right gift on her 5th birthday. The size was just perfect for her and the space that was available.
At the last minute I decided to add drawers to contain all those girly things and am glad that I did. To finish it off I added pretty crystal knobs to really glam it up.
I also built the play table stool to complete the set.

Using Ana's Rustic X Coffee Table plans, I created a larger version at 60" by 33" - just as easy and perfect for my space! Thanks Ana!

I fell in love with the Simple Outdoor Dining Table, but wanted something a bit different. When ewood posted the modified version. I knew that was the one!

wanted a big table for christmas, this is over 8 foot, and we couldn't afford a table like that so having seen the site thought i'd try and build one. thanks for the plans absolutely great
first project, no real woodwork experience but competent diy-er

made mainly out of reclaimed wood, the top and side apron are made of old scaffold boards and the main brace a chunk of wood form my neighbours shed.

i did have to buy some 2x4s for the legs and the cross braces

sides painted and the top waxed, looks a bit patchy in the photos but the finish is good.

all in all cost about £70

Handmade

Tweaked the Tryde Coffee table plans to fit daughters desired look with added magazine shelf and appropriate dimensions. Weekend project turned longer due to top color changes and re-sanding off stain a couple times. Settled on Ebony stain and ivory paint bottom. Love the plans from Ana White.

Second plan I decided to build from this site, my daughter loves it. She's 19 months old now, but should grow into it fairly soon, she can still climb into it though. Slapped it together in less than an hour. Small modifications from the original plan. I used a 1 x 12 tread (leftover from a previous project) for the seat and back. Painted and sealed it, and let dry over night. Thanks again Ana!

I built the American Girl canopy bed and closet for a family friend for Christmas. This plan was so much fun to make! I will definitely be making a few more for Christmas. I put a tutorial for the mattress I made and will be adding tutorials for the rest of the bedding on my blog tomorrow. Thanks so much!!

I'm not a carpenter by any stretch of the imagination. This is the first building project I've done in God knows how long. Having a brad nailer is almost a must. it make the assembly of this headboard a piece of cake. The hardest part by far for me was finding untreated 4x4's. especially since we wanted to leave them the natural color of the wood. I finally found a local lumber yard that also had a pallet shop where they make custom pallets for area businesses. They had some untreated 4x4's that they use to make pallets with. It took me quite a while to pick out some good ones from the bunch. Even after being very selective with the 4x4's I still had to take 80 grit sandpaper on a belt sander to them to get them to the finished product. They turned out great though. I would say that I'm a jack of all trades type of person, but had no experience building anything remotely close to furniture before. I am usually handy when it comes to figuring things out and doing work with my hands though. If you are looking for a good project to try out, then this one is a great one to start on. As for now, I don't plan to make the footboard and rails for this bed. These headboards cost me a total of about $52 or $53 each in materials. It took me a total of about 5-6 hours to build (2 hours of that was sanding on the 4x4's.)
