Yard Swing Pergola

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sat, 07/08/2023 - 09:31

Just saw on instagram that no one bragged about this plan yet. We did order the swing online, but built the outdoor room from your plan. We did put our support posts in concrete, very windy here. Just waiting for the roses to grow up the sides. Thank you for making it easy with your plan.

Outdoor Wood Cooler

Submitted by wcoombs30 on Fri, 01/10/2014 - 07:59

Philadelphia Phillies Outdoor Wood Cooler, I used a 48qt cooler and enclosed with pressured treated wood. I also ran plumbing from the spout and attached a brass faucet so it can be emptied when you want to. Three handles were also attached one each side to carry it and one on the lid so it can be opened.

I love your modifications.. Think I'll take it bit further and add another pullout on the other side of the shelf. This way I can put one hamper in each, and my whites and darks will already be separate.

Cubby Storage Bench - First Project!

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 08/11/2023 - 11:33

This was our first attempt at making furniture and even though the difficulty rating was ‘intermediate’, the detailed instructions made the process less complicated. Our version of Anna White Essential Entryway Bench turned out better than we expected! Once it was built, I stained it grey, painted it white, then distressed it to make it look antique. I added a custom made foam cushion to the top and, voila!

Airplane Reading Light and Shelf

Submitted by tommybo76 on Sun, 01/26/2014 - 12:31

I was inspired to build an airplane shelf for my son based on the plane old shelf design, and I've always liked WW2 era p-51 Mustangs. So I thought I'd give it a shot. I built this design out of mostly 3/4 plywood scrap. I glued 3 pieces together for the fuselage and routed out the wings for a rounded look. I then thought it would be cool to add some LED lights. That got me thinking, if I added enough lights underneath the wings he could use it to read books at night. There are 12 lights underneath and it seems to be very bright. The prop spins thanks to a few washers and a long screw. Most of my cost was tied up in LED lights since I used spare parts and scrap wood. It took me at least 10 hours to build as I had never tried to build something like this and experimented along the way.

Double Saw Horse Workstation

Submitted by tsibiga on Sat, 04/28/2012 - 09:56

I started out following the plans to a "t" and was going to make two of them. I got about half way through the first and decided to just turn it into a double work station. I decided to make the middle sawhorse slightly different for visual interest. I was also worried about how the desktop would line up with our window sill.

www.tommyandellie.com

I documented the whole build process here;

The paint and distressing is in this post:

And the stain on the desktop is here;

Modified Simple Modern Outdoor Table and Benches

Submitted by AandTsMom on Wed, 05/16/2012 - 10:21

We wanted two smaller tables and four benches so we can rearrange as needed to make one big or two small tables. We can also move them back and forth between patio and deck. We hoped to have this done in a weekend but it took us two weeks working at night after the kids went to bed. I love how they turned out but I'm not sure I will try another project this involved!

I really like the idea the two tables and being able to arrange them differently. Now I have to make more!!! Great job.

Surfer Shack

My buddy wanted this bed from Pottery Barn Kids but didn't want to spend $1300. It cost him $250 in materials and i built it for $300. So you DIY'ers could do it for $250. We also adjusted the size to fit a full size mattress.

Double Tilt-Out Trash & Recycle Bin – DIY

When we built our small mudroom and pantry addition, I new I needed a tilt out trash bin, nothing on the market fit the space the way I wanted. So I of course came here to Ana-white.com :) the "wood tilt out trash can or recycling cabinet plans" were perfect with a bit of hacking I made it fit exactly!

I made 2 cabinets into 1 unit,
used salvage/old cabinet door fronts I cut to size
Painted the box red and kept the oak cabinets all wood grain
Added handles
Added ball chain to keep the doors from falling over.

LOVE this! fits perfect in our mudroom and it was a pretty quick project too!

Shed Ramp Build

Submitted by mtairymd on Sat, 06/11/2016 - 06:07

Build Instructions:

My garage was starting to get cramped so I decided I needed a shed for the lawn/garden equipment. I thought about building one but bailed and decided to purchase a 10’ x 14’ shed with 6’ wide doors from the nearby Amish community. To not be a total slacker, I decided I could at least build the foundation and ramp. I’ve never built a ramp so I did a little research online and found that there are an abundance of styles, both good and bad. Anyway, this is my attempt at ramp design. Hope someone finds it useful.
