I used deck boards instead of 2x6 for the top and seats; this lightened the table overall while negating the need to sand and finish the boards.
I also used a cedar-tone treated board so staining wasn't necessary.

I'm also glad I'm not the only one. Its perfect for our kids when they drop stuff, it'll fall on the floor instead of the abyss with regular couches. Having a bit of a time finding easy bench cushion slipcover instructions to complete this though. I have 4" foam cut to fit but not sure if I should back it with ply, add batten on the top, etc. Any suggestions?
My husband Jon recently built this playhouse with/for a friend of his from work. It took them two months to complete and it's awesome! Jon's friend is also a die hard Gators fan so they made sure to add blue and orange as much as they could. Thanks Ana for giving them the courage to take on such a feat!

Great Job! All this says is "GO BRONCOS!" I'm an Idaho girl and I love the BOise State colors, lol! "Playhouse" is an understatement. This is a jungle. This is a huge play structure! and it is awesome.

I got so inspired by Ana White I just assumed I can make anything just like her :D
But deep inside I knew, I wasn't nearly as good as her :(
So when we needed a bar table of definite length and height and type and color and way out of our budget, I thought to myself "hey girl! you can do this ;)"
So I came up with this super easy plan.

This was my first project building something from this site. I absolutely love it! We didnt add the X's because the miter saw was at my dad's house, which I was kind of sad about, but I think it still looks good. Not too bad for mine and my husbands first build!
After a promise to get a new carpet and TV stand as an anniversary gift, I began a search for a corner stand that would fit a 50" flat screen and hid all of those ugly wires. Craig's List had nothing and the retail options were either cheaply made, ugly or crazy expensive. I stumbled upon Ann's page, and since my son has a wood shop in the basement, I figured why not try to build something. I used the original plan, but borrowed ideas from other brag posts to create a 36" tall model with overlay doors that we think looks great. Next project: bar stools for the kitchen island.
We have a very small laundry room and we wanted some additional room to put shoes when we walk in. We also couldn't have the pedestal be too tall or our washer and dryer would hit the shelves we put in over the laundry room. For this reason I modified the plans to remove the bottom and adjusted the height of the plans to just fit. I was worried about the stability, but made this super strong.
Picnic table with slight modifications. Assembled with the help of our five grandsons. A day to remember.

This was really fun! Actually used Spruce from a tree on my property that I had cut down and taken to a Saw Mill 6 Years ago. Been in the barn drying. The rough sawn boards were only 1.25 thick after the planer I could only maintain 1.00”. Extended the length of the table to 10’. Decided to reverse the underneath support angled boards to add support to the center of the table due to the added length and only 1” thick boards. Used biscuit joints to add strength and alignment. We love it at the lake home!

I just started my furniture business and Ana's page has been indispensable in my journey! I finished the project using Minwax Special Walnut stain and spar urethane.
I came across the plans for the pate rack and realized it would be a perfect fit in my dining room. My house is just shy of its 100th birthday and I have been tackling renovation one room at a time. I have been trying to find new ways to use all of the materials that have been removed or replaced during my renovation. I was able to use the damaged shiplap and warped baseboards from my first room's renovation and create a plate rack shown.

I wanted to build a piece for my living room that I could add onto later with other matching pieces. This was perfect since it has the matching coffee table, side table, and console table. It was my first time making angle cuts, and not tricky like I thought it would be. This is a very solid piece and fits in nicely with my decor.
I made these for a friend and just loved how they turned out. I liked the stained and black combo it turned out pretty good. I will be making some more for my son and and friend of his along with the sofa as an addition.

Several months ago, my sister approached me with the request of helping her build a media console for her home. We left off the doors and drawers in favor of having open shelves. We worked on this project over the course of several weekends and my sister is very happy with the final result!
Built this last weekend so I would have the option of standing at my desk - these plans work perfectly for that purpose! Quick and easy build that I was able to do with scraps on hand. Highly recommend for anyone who has suddenly found themselves working from home and is finding their desk chair just isn't comfortable enough for a full day of work. Easy to move out of the way when not needed and provides a nice way to quickly move work things off to the side but keep them handy for the next day. Thank you for the very timely plans!
I really loved the look of the benches for this table, so decided to change the top of the table to have a side slat. We painted it to go with our porch.
I loved this plan for sturdy, yet economical Adirondack chairs. They were exactly what I needed for one of our Airbnbs. I liked the look of smaller back and seat boards, so I used 1x4s in place of 1x10s. The seat spacing worked out on the seat but on the back I had to rip one of the boards on the back down to 2.5 inches or so for it all to to fit. If I make them again, I’d probably just add a 2 inches or so to the length of the back 2x4s so the back board spacing would work out.
