This was the first West Elm Knock off I attempted.  This was the first coffee table my sister requested.  This was also my first experience welding.  All in all it turned out pretty amazing.  She wanted one with a lifting table.  I bought the lift off of Amazon for around $60.  The wood is all Poplar and she used a mixture of stains to get the look she wanted.  I also added a hinge to the back other half of the table top so you can lift it to add more stuff inside the table.  I do not have any plans for this project as well i mostly just looked at the website and used the dimensions they had posted.

Our first building project and couldn't be happier with the outcome!

My husband and I were in the market for a new bed frame, but nothing in the shops were what we were looking for. We discussed making it. I came across these plans (http://ana-white.com/2012/01/plans/hailey-platform-bed) and off we went! The headboard was something we "designed" on our own (we did not work off any plans). We wanted something simple and functional.
We started from scratch .... had to buy tools, wood conditioner, stain, etc. But unbelievably thrilled with the outcome (and cost)
It is a very sturdy and heavy bed, something that is great for use, but may cause some issues when we move .... ;)

I did not include the time needed to dry, only the time it took to get items/measure/cut/build/assemble.

Turns out this plan was made for this random spot in our hallway! I used leftover butcher block for the top.

Flip down tray added for computer keyboard.

We have a small pantry as well, so we used the shelving featured on your website to help!
I absolutely love it. They’re not as beautiful as yours but I’m happy with what I made :)

What a quick easy project!!

I bought 8 ft long boards....and was able to make a 3 ft shelf and a 5ft shelf with each set. (The 5 foot shelves are going in my bedroom for photos...I'll be finishing those up this week!)

I hung these (3 foot) book shelves behind my daughter's bedroom door....so I adjusted the 1x4's to 1x2's....that way the door can open all the way and not bump in to them. A perfect fit for usually wasted space!

I staggered the shelves in my daughters room, so some taller books could stand up on the sides. She LOVES them!!

~Don't mind all the other chaos in the photos....that is all my daughter's "projects". She's a doer- like her Mama! =)

This was done entirely with thrown out pallets. Lots of work and sweat but I love it! Used polystain as the finish. Only spent about $30 in supplies ie screws, nails, stain.

First attempt. Used Vaseline to distress corrners and shelves. 

So excited about how good this turned out!!!

My husband built this bed using the plans for the Hailey Storage Bed but added a few extra features of his own. Our 2 year old could not be more happy about her new big girl bed!!!

A skinnier version of Ana's table, combining her plan with Letterpress for a custom table.

My wife recently started Grad School and needed a better space to study other than the dining room table. She found the plans that she liked on Shanty2Chic and bought the addtional tools needed for the job...she was serious about this project. I made the desk over 3 weekends, a few hours each day.  I only diverted from the plans by adding a 1 1/2" spade bit hole in the back to run the power cords through and tacking a surdge protector in between the top beams to help organize and hide the cords.

Single wide rustic x console table build

So this is the third piece that we decided to make off of Ana's site (all in a 2 week span!) The bar was definitely not hard and looks awesome (much better in person - my camera is not stellar).

I would definitely suggest investing in nice hardware. We special ordered the towel bar from Lowes. We also had a bulldog bottle opener that we attached to the side. It adds something really fun to it!

Stain all pieces separately and make sure that all sawdust is off from the sanding (using a vacuum and a tack cloth).

The piece that the towel bar is on we ended up taking off to put the towel bar on and then reattached it...just something to keep in mind.

We love this bar so much and it is a great addition to our home.

**The top does get REALLY heavy so be mindful of that.

Tabletop made from walnut and finished with waterlox. Base made from Fir and painted a nice chocolate color.

I made two of these tables and they were pretty fun, but were a little more work than I thought they would be.  All of the wood is kiln dried douglas fir, as the first table top I made warped as it was green wood and not the look I was going for.  I shortened the length to 72" so I had to adjust the angles for the center pieces.  I decided to build the tables, stain it, them took them apart and glued important joints, prior to staining the tables a second coat to avoid the glue standing out.  I also used 4x4's instead of sandwiched 2x4's as I thought it looked nicer that way.  I finished with 9 coats of polyurethane on the top and than a coat of wax using 0000 steel wool to get all the little imperfections out.
