Adirondack Set

These were a labor of love!  I bought my first miter saw and decided this would be the project to try angles.  It wasn't easy but I figured it out.  

These were pretty easy otherwise to put together once you get past the stringers.  They aren't perfect but they are very sturdy.  I've had a few people ask me to make them one too!

Adirondack Chairs

I used treated lumber for my project. One chair took me 2 to 3 hours from start to finish and the 2nd chair went a lot faster! The plans were so easy to follow, Thanks Ana!

The first real project I have attempted. I don't have any real experience with woodworking outside of shop class in junior high school.

My mother has been asking for one of these for many years. Mission accomplished.

my first project - Kitchen Island

Made from Easy Kitchen Island Plan With a few changes.

Body built from pine, Top surface built of oak.
The shelves were shortened by half To make room for two chairs.
Body painted with varnish polished sporadically.

Top Painted with three layers of varnish after polishing.

Fire-pit Life

Fortunate enough to live on a beautiful river, my wife and I decided we were done bringing the folding chairs out for each weekly bon fire. Our three girls love s’mores and we wanted a great atmosphere with a place to easily grab wood and snacks in the dark while we enjoyed the outdoors. The combination of plans took us about a week to finish. The kids were away for the weekend and we rented an auger to drill the post holes. This proved to be the most difficult part of the project. It took nearly the whole weekend to dig out the unexpected granite and all the patience that we had in reserves. Once the posts were set, it was only a slightly uphill battle.
My wife made the bench in the time it took to return the auger and come home. The fire pit benches were also a pleasure to assemble and the most functional part of the project. I suspect the whole thing would have been faster if the large posts were easier to cut through. That treated lumber can eat saw blades! When setting the top posts it was also a two ladder and two person job. They were quite heavy and a little nerve wracking to set if you don’t love heights and a heavy load. We would do this project again in a heartbeat as it is a feature in our yard and makes for many enjoyable family and friend gatherings. The fire pit bench top is also great for hosting the entire bbq meal assortments to select from.

Entertainment Center and Computer Desk

I did not follow any plans for this project. I literally just sketched out a few ideas and went with one of them based on the size I wanted. I used some pine project boards 3/4in that were already ripped to 16 inches. I cut them with my circular saw to size and connected everything with some wood glue and a kreg jig. I bought the $20 kreg jig and it worked perfectly I also bought the driver, clamp and kreg 1 1/2 inch wood screws. I used polyshades dark oak i think for the finish. I made it a little darker than I wanted but overall I am very happy considering I had an old computer desk sitting there before. I plan to make a farmhouse table in the future. I love this site thank you for the inspiration everyone!

double loft bed

This is my extremely altered double loft bed. My sister needed a custom sized double loft bed, I figured I could use this plan and make two beds in an L shape, but the space I had to work with was smaller than these plans so I had to re-design most of the bed all together, I ended up attaching two sides of each bed to the wall with legs only on the outer pieces. She wanted a "fun" looking bed so I added a splash of color, just simple enough for me to make.

Modern Farmhouse Side Table

I always love warching woodworking but felt so inspired to do it myself when i watched your videos. I decided to make the modern farmhouse table but using stain and paint I already had. While I followed all the instructions, my 1×10 ended up being a 1x12 (incorrectly labeled) and threw the design off a little bit. I had to modify the plan to accommodate the larger size but I love the end result just as much! Thank you so much for sharing your videos and plans.

Laundry Basket Shelf

I didn’t want to have to paint or cut the metal angles - plus I wanted 4 basket tall so I used pre-drilled melamine for the sides making the unit 48” tall. Then cut top and bottom same as plans and bought 5mm L shelf pegs and had shelves cut 24 1/4”. Used white wainscot panel for back. Very easy - especially since I had big box store make all my cuts! Just have to make sure you have peg holes lined up at bottom or you won’t be level.

Ladder shelf

I used Miniwax Ebony Stain for the base and drawers and some Rustoleum Spray Paint in Black for the top. Finished with a few coats of Varathane Diamond Clear. I would use brush on paint instead of spray if I did this again - the spray paint used 3 CANS and was a huge part of the cost!

New shelves for my new shed

A great simple & useful project requiring 2 - count 'em - 2 different materials - screws & 2X4's. I would NOT go cheap on the 2X4's. Be careful picking over them and make sure they're as straight as possible. If some are bowed, that's OK. Just use them for the actual shelves, making sure the bow is up. I used bar clamps to hold any warped ones in place before screwing them down.
