Stable for Nativity Scene

I had been thinking about making something to go with the nativity scene that I made a few years ago, and was so excited to see the plans for this stable this morning. It's less historically accurate, but much easier to build than a cave. =) I had cedar fence picket scraps laying around, so this project didn't cost me anything extra.

Modified 4x4 Truss Beam Table

Build the 4x4 Truss Beam Table base with the Fancy X Farmhouse Table top shortened to 7' (84") for my wife's birthday! We love how it looks and can not wait to build the matching benches! Also, this is my first time attempting a building project and Ana-White Plan. The plans are very easy to follow and execute!!

Entryway Bench

I picked this bench because our entryway isn't very big and this was small enough that I didn't have to make any alterations to the size.

Thanks for the compliment on our floors!! My husband and I just installed them a few months ago. I love them but I'm always a little embarrassed to say this, because I'm a bit of a wood snob, but it's laminate. Kensington Manor 12mm Imperial Teak Handscraped, from Lumber Liquidator. We bought it when it was on sale for $1.99 a square foot. Can't beat that!

Easy Kitchen Island

Easy Kitchen Island. This was my first big woodworking project so I bought the top and recycled some old wood. I learnt a lot, it took me about 20hrs to complete including painting and staining. I found the plans easy to follow and I’m super happy with the results.

DIY Farmhouse TV Console

This was the second piece of furniture that my husband and I ever made. We had built a coffee table that had a lift up top so that we could eat dinner on the couch and store all of our board games. Once we tackled that, I thought we could conquer the world (even though the table was pretty basic). So when my now-husband was about to move into his first apartment without a roommate and I saw it as an opportunity to decorate my own place (even though I wasn’t living there). Luckily,he agreed it was time to get rid of his tiny Ikea TV stand that was probably 2ft off the ground and not a great height for a TV, and agreed to build this awesome TV console with me. To this day, it’s still my favorite piece of furniture in our house.

Porch Planter Steps

I love how sturdy and beautiful these planter steps turned out! They were easy to build and work perfectly with the new deck/front porch I built this summer. I only needed one step and I used the same 1x material for the top of the step as I did the deck. I just added a couple more supports for the 1x material, as it isn't as sturdy as 2x6's. Thank you so much for the wonderful plan!

Communion Table from truss Sofa table plans

Wanted to make a Communion Table for church found these plans here on Ana White and just had to use it. I modified them to make the table 24 inches wide and only 52 inches long. I had fun making this and had help from all five of my kids with the oldest being 11 and the youngest 3. Thanks for recommending these plans they were awesome. 👍

Sunridge Middle School Woodshop

At Sunridge Middle School, we design and build our own projects at the end of second semester. As class sizes have grown ( the class is quite popular) helping design up to 60 projects becomes quite difficult. That’s where you come in! You have designed some awesome projects and the kids are able to find a perfect fit, with your variety. Some doubt the ability of 14 year olds, but given the space, opportunity, support, and your plans, we can do anything!

DIY Wood Coffee Table

Fireplace Wall Built-ins

My partner and I struggled with how to make a bookshelf wall around a fireplace that is flush with the wall. The solution! Build out the lower portion of the fireplace wall about 8 inches, add stone, then cabinets and shelves. Materials used: butcher block counter top, real wood panels for wall, oak wood for shelves, and poplar for the painted portions. The mantle is laminated wood made to appear like a large piece. We have a power strip accessible on both sides to keep things plugged in. The hardest part was continuing the crown molding around the top. We are pleased with the result!!

Chestwick Platform Bed (King)

I took the plans from the Chestwick platform bed and headboard and built it using King size bed dimensions. For the box of the bed, I used 2 x 12's instead of 2x8's. It seemed more substantial for a king bed, and this way, I didn't need to use a box spring.

I want to stain something that color just because it's called "Gunstock." This is such a neat bed, looks good with the heavier bottom, especially on a king size bed.

Modern Adirondack Chairs

We love how these modified 3-panel adirondack chairs turned out! The pillows were from Costco- $15 for a two pack.

The color used is Relentless Olive (SW 6425) from Sherwin Williams. These chairs got a coat of exterior primer and were finished with one quart of green high-gloss exterior enamel.

OCTAGON PICNIC TABLE

My son and I had a blast building this table last October. I have been meaning to write and thank you for the great plans. We took the suggestion of staggering the legs for better access and it turned out great. I also used deck boards for the top to help reduce weight and they were already slightly curved on the sides which made sanding easier. Thank you!
My cost includes a nice Kreg Jig set up (approx $100)

This is awesome! My son and I are looking to build an L shaped desk for him and this looks to be the one. Any thoughts on how I would mount a computer tray beneath? Think there is enough clearance below the 2x4 without hitting knees?
