Joss & Emit's Train Table :)

This was my very first "Ana project"! It was a special Christmas treat for my boys and their expanding train collection. This table has had many, many hours of entertainment and enjoyment. It is a great beginner project and has very easy plans to follow! I didn't do the storage carts at the time. I may go back and do them later though...for now they like playing under the table as well. My obsession began :)

Loft bed for son

I've built a few bookshelves and cubbies before, but nothing on this scale.  I built this in my basement this past December as a Christmas present for my three-year-old son.  The plans were easy to follow.  I believe I spent about $150 on lumber.  The bed is very sturdy.  My kids love it!  Now the the other kids want their own special daddy-made bed :)

min-wax water based stain protected with water-based polycrilic. It all dried way too fast and didn't give me time to correct errors. Next time I will use oil based.

Reclaimed beauty

I started the project on a Monday and moved the table into the house on Thursday afternoon. All wood used was reclaimed. I shortened the length of the table by 9 inches due to the length of the reclaimed boards. The dimensions are 87 x 38.5 x 30. I used a colonial maple stain brushed on then rubbed in with a cloth. Then I applied several coats of Polycrylic clear satin. The stain was $1.50 from the Habitat store and the poly was found in the house we recently moved into. I spent about $15 on wood screws.

Modern Headboard w/ Sconces

Love the modern look of the headboard so I adjusted the dimensions a bit to add more height. I built this for my daughters first college apartment and wanted to capitalize on space know that her room would be small - so I added the sconces for extra lighting in her room. I turned out great and was so happy to find the inspiration on Ana's site!

Adirondack Chairs for our Fire pit

We had recenty been to Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies and saw beautiful red adirondack chairs out on many of the trails, so we built these to remind us of a great family vacation.

Wooden Star

Used a compass to make my star as I wanted the points to be a little taller. 10 pieces of 8" walnut was used. And I used a table saw sled to cut the pieces.

Miter Saw Cart

I had my mitre saw on a stand I had purchased and it was ok. Hard to move around, but it supported the saw ok. Frustrated over having to drag it around every time I was using it. This cart is smaller than the old stand and easier to move around.

Delivered the nursury Furniture and have a very satisfied daughter preparing to bring our Grandchild into the world.

I started with plans and inspiration and then added some creativity. For the legs on this crib I laminated three 1x4 poplar and used threaded inserts. #anawhite

Folks I am going to tell you to suggest you get the frame and hardware at place called products america .They have a link to plans that were on a magazine web site for sale.  I got the plans but the crib you see only used those plans to get started. If you look at each side independently you will notice that you can build this with Free and better written plans for Ana-White farmhouse bed.  yes, you'll do a little modifying for the sides but as we build that is beauty of everything we build in that we build for the size we need.   The plans from build America will help with dimensions. The other key with a crib safety and the fact that it must be assembled and disassembled in the room.   The plans from build america will attempt to show how to install threaded inserts.  I found Youtube and other instructions to be much better. My build has fixed sides meaning the front and the back do not come down. And I did not set it up to be convertable.

Built in bookcase with lighting and power outlets in cupboards for audio and DVD equipment to feed to the wall mounted tv (to the left).

The photo with the lights is when it was unfinished and I also decided that I didn't like the inset doors and so made new overlay ones. Now I have four doors I need to use on another project...

Saw this clever side table on Pinterest. It's made out of 1 1x8x8. I was able to figure out how to build a jig for the table saw to suit the project and then it was easy peasy lemon squeezy from there.

Simple Farm Table

My mom and o completed this weekend project together! It was so fun to complete! The table is customized to 7ft and the benches made smaller than the original plans so they slide under the table when we’re not using it. We made it for our homeschool room. The kids are excited for this space already and we all have the room we need to get our work done! Under $200 start to finish! I used a prestain to prep the wood and then stained with watco danish oil in a natural finish.

Fireplace with recessed TV mount

This is a very custom fireplace that I built for my wife as a 40th wedding anniversary gift. It is built around a Samsung 55” Frame TV and a Vivo motorized mount. The motorized mount allows the TV to be lowered to a better viewing height than the standard above mantle position which is usually too high for comfortable viewing.

In order to maintain the flush mount effect with the TV in art mode, I recessed the mount into the fireplace. That required building a “back” frame for the TV mount then the outer frame for the surround. I covered the outer frame with ½” OSB then ship lap. The mantle and hearth is made from Poplar with walnut stain and Polyurethane satin top coat. The hearth opens for storage.

This was sourced from several different plan sets with a lot of customization and input from the Technical Support Staff at Vizo-US.

I was hoping someone would do the recessed mount, and you nailed it! It's so much better with the tv flush like yours.

Minimalist Modern King Bed

When we needed a new bed frame recently, I began my search online. They were all $1,000 plus, and nothing that really caught my eye. I found this plan from Ana White and immediately fell in love! While it wasn’t an “easy” project, it was fun to do and I’m absolutely in LOVE with the results! Thanks again Ana!

Work table / desk

I created this work table by modifying the Beginner Farm Table.  I made it counter height and added a shelf underneath.  It is 5 feet long and the top is five 2x6 boards.  The shelf is 1x6 boards.

I purchased 4@ 2x4s and 3 @ 2x6x10 - I got the store to cut those in half (5' lengths).  I cut the 2x4s on a miter saw.

This is my first project.  It probably took a bit more than 6 hours given I was learning to use the saw and trying to find the tools to do the job.

Varathane Stain and Polyurethane(Mission Oak finish). I sanded the boards by hand and painted the finish with a paintbrush. It was a bit messy and difficult the get an even coat, but that didn't bother me too much as it is meant to be rustic. In future I think I'd prefer a two step process as I think it may be less messy.
