17” square, 2x4 side tables / stools

Well my wife bought 2 x 17” square seat cushions the problem was we didn’t have any stools to put them on so decided to enhance our front seating patio area with 2 solid 2x4 side tables that would double up as stools.
I based the design on Ana’s table design but decided to counter sink all the screws & cut plugs to suit so no screw heads could be seen, they turned out perfect & very robust, perfect for the U.K. weather, my wife finished them in grey outdoor paint to match the furniture, all in all they took only around 6hrs to make & paint.

Tropical Pallet Outdoor Room: Renters’ Remodel

Yes we are RENTERS, and yes, we sneakily “REMODELED” a tropical island style outdoor room, with pallets!

The entire project is done with scrap pallet wood- from pallet living wall, pallet furniture, to stenciled pallet wood floors -  just to prove that not only can one have a magazine worthy "remodel" as renters, it can be done with minimal cost as well!

I had to adjust the height and width of this project to fit on my wall in this corner. But I just LOVE how it came out. It's one of my favorite pieces of furniture in my whole house!

Simple bed

This was my first ever build, I had a blast! I have always wanted to work with wood but never knew where to start. We have 7 children and we have gone threw so many beds and wasted so much money over the years on cheap beds. I wanted to build something that was sturdy and something that would last. Thanks to Ana White I found these plans. My husband showed me how to use the tools and I got to work. We're a military family so we move every 1 to 3 years, so I had to make some adjustments so it could be taken apart and moved over and over again. Thank you Ana White for these plans and so much more. You have been such an inspiration, if it wasn't for you and your site I would've never have found the motivation and courage to start building.

Modern Outdoor Chairs!

We love the new chairs on the front patio! My daughter and son in law's FIRST project! They completed both chairs in 1 day. We did add an additional 4x4 on the bottom to raise them as my son in law is tall. They sanded and stained them black to go with the gray brick and black door of their home. We picked up the cushions at "At Home" on clearance. Just need a new carpet and we're all set! On to our next project!

Birthday Doll House for Granddaughter

Thank you for your doll house plans!

This was a gift for my granddaughters 5th birthday. I altered the stair design a bit to provide a little more durability.

The only part I struggled with was the wallpaper.

All-in-all the project was a success and she LOVED it!

Vinyl record cabinet

I know this is a pretty basic build but I still wanted to share it.  I used pine for the entire piece.  It took longer to finish this piece than to build it haha.  The finishing process consided of a pre-stain condiitoner, antique walnut gel stain, and several coats of toner.

Modified Adirondack Chairs and Coffee Table

I had some Kebony deck boards left over from another project and thought they would work well. I think they did! Kebony is pine that is soaked in an alcohol and then heated up. It has a 30 year warranty and requires no care. I used a Penofin oil on the 2x4s and Cutek oil on the Kebony

Adorable Rustic Bench

Love the rustic bench! This project took my husband about an hour or two to build and then a little primer and paint and it was ready to use. It was a pretty easy build and we didn’t modify the plans at all. We liked the bench so much that we made another one! My biggest tip is to always read the comments on the plans because people leave great feedback about their experience as well as any tips that they used. It cost us less than $30 to build two benches. Sanded really well and then filled screw holes with wood fill. Primed and painted with Behr’s powdered blush.

Upholstered Bench w/ Slatted Shelf

I had a client who requested a bench like the Caden Leather Bench by Pottery Barn, except she wanted it longer. I didn't bevel the legs because I used 2x3's instead of 2x2's and wanted to make it as sturdy as possible to accommodate the additional length. Needless to say, she was VERY happy with the bench and I am getting ready to work on one for our home now!

Sorry - didn't have plans for this one and I really stink at using the software Ana uses to make plans. I did loosely follow the Cayden Nailhead Stool plans, but, of course, modified in my attempt to duplicate the Pottery Barn bench the client wanted to match. I would be happy to help in any way I can, but you definitely need to be comfortable to work without plans. I used my Kreg jig quite a bit for this project and the little piece of wood that protrudes from the legs is faux - just cut a 1/2" piece and glued and nailed with my brad nailer.

Farmhouse doll bed

I am in the process of making my own queen size farmhouse bed but this one came along a lot quicker and my daughter loves it. :) She recently got zebra and hot pink bedding so we made a blanket to match.
